Our country is very divided! And if our government ever tried anything stupid like: take away our freedom of speech or do away with the constitution, it would be inevidable. the U.S. military is the most powerful in the world. But our military is not designed to fight a war on its own turf. Civillians would be taking over the white house!

If it got to the point that the government began taking our rights away; the government would not have much of a military left! Most of the soldiers would probably join the side of the American rebels to regain their constitutional rights! I know if I where a soldier, and the government wanted me to kill other Americans because they have refused communism Guess what? I'm gonna fight the government! I'm not gonna go against what our nation was founded upon. If this where to occur; the government would suffer a severe defeat! because they would simply loose support. Not many soldiers are gonna fight for communism. I would be an American revolution all over again! And just like the first rebellion defeated the British; the second one would go to the rebels as well!

Oh, I believe it is possible that there will be a civil war here. But then when you have young people that believe it is against the law to say anything bad about the president, and if not against the law, should be...then one does have to wonder how they came to think they have any freedom what so ever. I do believe civil war on our ground is coming. I don't believe it will be white against black, or black against Asian...it will be poor against rich...it will be the have nots against the haves...and baby there are lot more of the have nots than anyone else.

I hate to think of the prospect but if something isn't done I don't know how it wouldn't become more and more a possibility. They have already started taking our rights away. We blindly handed alot of them over and complied with them willingly to supposidly be "safer" with our "war on terriorism". Whenever they impliment those changes it will be under the guise of for our own good. Many would hand them over willingly because it would temporarily ease their worries until they finally discovered it was no favor. I mean sure if a terriorist writes about bombing something we want that taken seriously. But at the same time you best not even joke and say "it's a bomb" if someone asks a stupid question. If you're drunk and smacking your friend around and the police come......you better watch your mouth. You can go from minor assult to "terrioristic threat" a felony if you just mouth off and threaten to kick their butt when you get out. Don't put kill bush on your my-space page or you're going to have some visitors checkin you out. Even if you don't mean it are just angry about the war.
We have gangs here that are killing innocent children on a daily basis. These people in these neighborhoods are fed-up with the senseless violence. So they want a ban on firearms. Problem is the gangs are still going to get their guns while law abiding people will hand over their constitutional right to bear arms and have no means to defend themselves if necessary. Guns aren't the problem, gang mentality is. So it's important for people to not grab at the first "solution" and think it's the answer. Or to even begin to think that that "solution" might not backfire in your face down the road. You'd be amazed as to how many tid-bits are passed through congress without your knowledge. We blindly trust that these people are there and committed to the constitution. Wake-up.........while you're sleeping they are changing the American way of life without your knowledge or vote. They don't tell you that the reason that the last minimum wage increase wasn't passed was because of the tax ryder added on......not because they didn't want a minimum wage increase. I mean it's a full time job reading these things and beleive it or not.....alot of them never do read it before they sign it. It's all in the fine print. What's left up to interpretation or a major loophole for abuse. I HATED politics. Boring. But when I woke up and sat here wondering what on Earth happened.....I realized it was all passed right under my nose and I didn't know it. So far....we are still their employers. It's our responsibility to stay on these employees butts to make sure they are doing their jobs. The cats been away and trust me....the mice have been playing. Playing with our lives, our country and the future of this nation.

I wish it were that simple. This country has been taken over by a aristocratic tyranny supported by people who believe that soully because they share the same complexion as their oppressors that they are part of them. In the words of the late Mal com X they have been Bamboozled! However a bloody revolution or civil war would more than likely result in a new tyranny with a few different leaders. The capitalist system by its very nature was eventually going to degenerate into this greed infested mess. 200 years is such a short period of time in the scheme of things.

Never thought a civil war possible but the Republicans have become so radical and have pretty much voided the constitution.
I don't see Bush leaving the white house or the power leaving the Republicans. They are getting rich and they are not about to give that up. We are worried about a war in the middle east but we have problems right here.

No. the states have power but not that much power. all of the commanders in the military still are kept in check by the Pentagon they don't have the arsenal nor the man power. a civic up rising would be shut down like a Jr high keg party.

It is possible. It is not likely. Most people are more interested in their daily affairs than they are politics.
Our military is now designed exactly for urban warfare. You are sadly mistaken in your statement.Iraq is the perfect training ground for urban warfare and the military will be much more capable of handling insurrection at home. The days of the citizens taking the country against the army are over.

A civil war to determine whether the Radical Islamofascists should be killed?
Kind of insane to kill your fellow Americans when you want to sympathize with the enemy, don't you think?
Be an American first. Try it. It FEELS good.

I wouldn't put anything past the neocons in an attempt to stiffle freedom.
