I'm 60 & I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see a woman president in my lifetime. I would also like to see a black president too but I don't think that will happen.
Why? We have become used to seeing women in power and the majority of Americans aren't so narrow-minded against women anymore.
As for a black president: I think we've already seen blacks who would be capable of being president. Colin Powell is one who comes to mind and, even tho I don't like her, Condi Rice. I'm just afraid America isn't ready for it yet-- too many rednecks and racists. Also, I'm afraid that when one becomes nominated he/she will be assinated. I think that's why Colin Powell's wife doesn't want him to run for the job. But I would be proud to have a Colin Powell for a president - he'd be a major step up from the one currently in office & he probably would have been one of the great ones.
I'm a white female.
in my lifetime.

I think we've been ready for both and I personally would really love to see Senator Hillary Clinton run for President. She's a very strong intelligent woman would do a damn good job. She has the intelligence, skills, knowledge, eduction, and experience to handle the job. A lot of people don't realize that Hillary has an extensive back ground in eduction and law, and over the years she's been appointed to and served a variety of national and state boards such as , Children's, Legal Services, Defense Fund National Health Care Reform, etc. First female U. S. Senator, so why not the first female President of the United States!

nicely, what we are doing now must be not operating. i imagine easily one of them ought to get elected in simple terms because they are something different. we've a president it rather is the guffawing inventory of the international (%. up a international paper in case you do not have self belief me). And the song list earlier him isn't a lot extra powerful. Its been my complete lifetime considering there is been a president that people were enthusiastic about. we are transforming into to the point that we vote for the lesser of both evils and rather none of those adult men is a lot different from the different, whatever party they are from. that's time for a replace, any replace and that i imagine various of people experience this form.

I think we're ready for anything at this point. Just get rid of the incompetent fools that are in there now. Really, I wouldn't be surprised by a presidential race between Condoleeza and Obama. Or between Giuliani and Hillary. the old rules just don't hold anymore.

Nope. They're not even ready for a smart president, they've proved that many times.

Why should we not be?
We've come a long since the days of slavery and when women didn't have suffrage.
