I read on the internet somewhere (can't remember the source) that he recently married a woman quite a bit younger than himself (like 30 or 40 years younger) and that they're trying to have a baby. I'm serious. Try wikipedia.com for current info. Funny personal story... when I was in college about 10 years ago, I was walking through the English Dept. and this flier happened to catch my eye. It said "Tonight Only : JD Salinger speaking at the University auditorium and reading excerpts from his novel." I nearly passed out. Tears came to my eyes and the world tilted and then I saw the footnote at the bottom... "Happy April Fools -Love the English Department faculty". I still have the flier.

Hi, Well I guess you know that Joyce Maynard, old flame of Salinger's, wrote a book about her relationship with him some years ago.

He is so reclusive and the book just made it worse.
