i have a boyfriend and we never talk at school he is always playing basketball. my best friends boyfriend hangs out with her. i am jelous and wish my boyfriend was like that. we hug after school but we like never talk

What are the benefits of having this guy as your "boyfriend"?
It's possible that your guy is shy, or maybe afraid of getting too involved with a girl, because maybe his friends will harass him. Maybe he feels awkward, and just doesn't know what to do or say. Let him know that you'd like to hang out with him a little more at school, and think of conversation starters. Make a list (for your reference only) of all of the things you'd like to know about him, and the things you want him to know about you. Then, don't deluge or assault him with 2000 questions in one day, but every time you get together with him, try to get a conversation- a dialogue- going.
If he's still not interested, or is distant, cold, etc, I would suggest that you let this one go, and find a boyfriend who's interested in being half of a couple. You can't expect a school-age boyfriend to dote on you every minute of every day, but you should be able to expect some conversation, and some company. Life's too short to devote it all to someone who's not going to meet you somewhere in the middle. Good luck to ya.

join him in a game of one on one basketball, you can talk and hang out at the same time. Then, you can do do something you like or something that you both like.

Aha. I had this problem...sorta.
Just try and talk to him a bit more, but don't come over to clingy/desperate because that will just scare him off. Invite him over to your house or to the cinema or somewhere where it's just the two of you, and I'm sure you two will be a great couple soon enough. :D

Make sure he has time for you, see if he does, and to make sure he uses that time on you. If he refuses, then chances are he's a cruddy boyfriend, and you should find a boyfriend who does have time for you.

how do you hang out with some one with out talking? are you kidding? i guess this guy is just passively your boy friend there is nothing here that shows me that there is a friendship going here. you need to start from scratch and let the boy know that you have a crash on him.
