liquid eyeliner I thinks it's best to use at night and to start at about 17 or 18 and during the day a eye liner would be best for during the day and applied very softly to enhance the eye.

most of the girls at my school started wereing eyeliner at 11! that's just stupid because it can make you look weird if you don't know how to do it exactly right. I'm 14 and I've only worn it once or twice in this past year and never before that. It doesn't make a person look much better because whenever people were it at my school, their friends are all, hey are you wearing eyeliner? then the person says yes, and their friends tell them that it looks kindof weird. Why would someone want to wear eyeliner at 12 or 13? "because its cool" "because all my friends do it" yeah, so what?you shouldn't do it unless oyur 100% positive it will make you look prettier. If you wear it, make it so that it doesn't jump out at people, but just enough for you to be able to tell it's there. A little goes a long way!

Honestly, my advice is wait until really needed. If there are acne problems, or something unsightly that really makes the potential wearer uncomfortable, then I would suggest seeking a natural-looking, light make-up to help out there. But if make-up isn't needed don't wear it; not only will it probably look silly, but it can actually damage skin and speed up the aging process (when you don't want it to) if make-up is poor quality. And really, skip the eyeliner and other enhancements until at least 15/16 and know how to wear it. Otherwise, go ahead and BE NATURAL at about 13.

I really think it depends on the maturity of the individual.
If a child is mature enough to go out on dates, keep up on their homework, and be trusted by their parents, I see no problem with makeup and eyeliner. I would definitely suggest no makeup before age 13 other than play makeup.
Also, what happened to natural beauty?
I'm 17, and I don't wear much makeup unless it's a special occasion. I just wear a little concealer, lip gloss. and "lash tint." Most guys say that they think women are most beautiful when they wear no makeup at all. I think that girls should learn and understand that concept before they try to change how they look with makeup.
Makeup should be used to accentuate how a person looks, not change it. If you pay attention to your surroundings, you will see that many young women today that put on heavy makeup have self image problems and end up making themselves look trashy. That's why it shouldn't be taken to the extreme, and also why maturity and understanding of oneself is important.

Haha, I love how you can tell who the younger posters here are. I'm sorry, but 13 IS too young for makeup, and anything under that? Where are their parents??
I'd say around 15 is about right to start playing around with makeup.

i am currently 17 years old. i started accutally wearing makeup seriously when i was 13. lipgloss, brown toned eyeshadows for the natural look, and eyeliner, and mascara. when girls are younger, they are taught with that play makeup, like little barbie sets, so when they grow up a little more and outgrow the little play makeup they want more adult makeup.

Be at least 15 years of age. Nothing looks worse than a young teen with makeup on. It can make you look fast if it isn`t applied to just the upperlid.

13.
That's when I started, I think.
I don't see the big deal, as long as the girl doesn't make herself up like a barbie every day. It's like dressup when you're younger. When you're older it becomes more of a beauty statement. Who doesn't want to look nice?
(I have different opinions for the whole skimpy clothes on kids thing though lol)
