Do French people really dislike parisians ?

I'm French and I think many French people dislike Parisians a bit because they are supposed to be posh and not very kind. I come from a town in the Parisian suburb so i usually say I'm from Paris because it is easier than explaining where my town exactly is. Usually, people don't really care about it but sometimes people do strange comments "Really ? You don't look Parisian at all !" One of my friends who is really from Paris told me that people also tell her that and that they consider it as a compliment.
Anyway, I think Parisians are not that unkind (some are, of course) I think the fact that some French people dislike Parisians is due to the fact that everything important is located in Paris. Politicians try to give more power to the rest of France. But they haven't achieved it yet. No city in France can really be a competitor to Paris both on the economical and the political level. So, many French people think that Paris is advantaged

I'd call it a healthy dislike more than hate. Parisians have reputation for being snooty and superior-minded, and that tends to grate on non-Parisians.

It's the same as engalnd and cockneys. people from capital cities tend to think they are better, people who aren't from the capital get a bit sick of this.
