Stallions can become sterile just as humans can become sterile at any age.
Injuries, disorders and even the environment (tempt) can affect production of healthy life sp.erm etc.
Any stallion that is doing any sort of breeding, especially a standing stud business, he should be regularly checked in his sp.erm count.
If mares are not becoming pregnant, the stallions can also be at fault for that too than just mares.

A stallions age is not really a good indicator of whether or not he's sterile, We have a likkle shetland stallion who turned 23 this year and is the proud father or 4 lovely fillys and a wicked little colt! (all born this year) Each stallion is individual.
In answer to your question it's true because there is a chance your stallion could be serile just highly unlikely

As cattledog_vinnie said, stallions can become sterial. And your best option is to have your stallions semen evaluated by your vet.
Some stallions have a naturally low sperm count, while other stallions, if they've been "over bred" can lose their potency.
Some stallions can breed till they're 25, while others are sterile by the time they're 10...so there's really no "norm" as it were.
Hope this helps.

they can go sterile at any age. the best thing to do is have him collected by your vet and have the semen evaluated. stallions do and tend to drop off in sterility as they age but just as humans each one is different. there are alot of older breeding stallions out there. hope this helps

Any things possible but it's not too likely just based on age. Ten is still in the prime of life, he'd just be getting in stride if he was running his own heard in the wild. I have heard of the West Nile vaccine causing sterility problems in several studs though!

A sterile mare can't breed, as she is unable to conceive a foal. And the only way is to call your vet and ask them. I am sure he will do blood work of some sort. And your vet would be the only one to tell you the rates of that and the traveling fee....as we are not your vet... And what is your mares Registered name? And what is her breeding? As from the picture you posted, she doesn't look like she could even win a $100 claiming race.
