I am a 30 year old woman with a great husband and 3 wonderful kids (5, 2 1/2 and 1). I stay at home with my kids but babysit some kids throughout the day.

My question is lately I have felt really tired as if I can't get enough sleep, and have no energy - not even to do the daily chores around the house or even get dressed. I just feel so tired. I had a hysterectomy this past May and don't know if that has anything to do with it or if this is depression.

I feel like I don't even get excited for things as I used to - like I feel empty about things. Some days it is o.k. and then there are others when I feel like this and don't feel like talking to anyone.

Please give me some suggestions. Thanks! I sometimes also get very angry at y kids (extremely irratable). HELP...

If some days are o.k. and then there are others when you feel like this, then things sound a bit normal. However, if this is not your typical attitude towards life, then you should consult with the surgeon who performed your hysterectomy.

A hysterectomy is usually a safe operation, but complication do arise. One complication that should alert you to consult with your surgeon is internal bleeding.

Other complication which also may cause weakness is a blood clot, and pneumonia. The posibillity of these happening are far off, but the emotional factor and an infection may still exist.

Hope this answers your question!

Go to a doctor and get some information on depression. My usually bubbly daughter who really does like her job has 3 kids (6, 2, 7 weeks). She's also tired and irritable. She went through depression with the 2 year old and didn't do a lot of things like she should (like pay the bills on time). It not only affected her home life and job, but had a financial impact. Get some help. There is no shame in taking something for depression if that's it. If it isn't depression, the doctor can find out what's wrong. The physically tired is to be expected. The other clues are what concern me.

Have you ever read "The Feminine Mystique"? I know it's old, but it still applies in a lot of ways to our modern day. A lot of housewifes report listlessness, irratability, and lack of satisfaction with their life, even though they can see no reason for it. Such as great husband, wonderful kids, good home...the perfect lift, right?

No!

You're educated, right? You're smart, and need a challenge in life...not jsut to be the perfect little housewife. Really, and trust me, research backs me up, you need an actual job away from hearth, home, and family. It will revitalize you, I swear! Maybe not even a job, try going back to school, or just doing something for yourself.

No one can live for others all their life.

It sounds to me like you may be suffering from classic depression with anxiety. Did you have endometriosis? If so, you may still be suffering from the "side symptoms" like lack of energy and mood swings. It could be related to the hysterectomy. Your hormone levels are still trying to balance themselves out.

I have had endometriosis for almost 4 years, and my doctor had to put me on Zoloft for PMDD and severe mood swings. Definitely talk with your doctor and let him/her know how you are feeling. They might just prescribe a change in diet (like cutting out beef) or may suggest something more involved. Also, let your husband know how and what you are feeling. Sometimes it just helps to cry it out, or shout it out. Knowing that you have him on your side will make a HUGE difference.

I hope this helps.

I think you should take some vitamins like Centrum because I have the same problem.
You may also have the sickle-celled trait because that what makes you feel tired and
everything. If that doesn't help, consult a doctor.

Is it your activity or the medicine this is making you experience so drained?

I think that you'd been working too hard and stress is OVERTAKING you... You should probably consult a doctor.
