This is a very debatable question that you've asked, especially since you haven't told what you are looking for in a MMORPG. Are you wanting a player vs. player format? Monster bashing? Empire building? I would suggest you go to MPOGD.com and use their advanced search.
I currently play MapleStory (mapleglobal.com), so that would probably be my suggestion.

The best MMOPRG is probably World of Warcraft. However, some people say it is Guild Wars or Eve online. Both of these are great games, but i like World of Warcraft better.
