White Vinegar! Boil it in the kettle, leave over night then rinse. Put more water in it, pour out right away to make sure you got all the scales out. If not, boil vinegar again, let it boil for a while, about half an hour. Dump and rinse. Works great for me and vinegar is cheap!

Use vinegar.

Leave in the kettle for 4 hours or so - can leave overnight.

Empty. Rinse the kettle out, refill, boil, empty the kettle and it should be scale free. You may need to boil a second time.

You can buy small metal scourers, that stay inside your kettle, and these help reduce the limescale build up.
Or try using a white vinegar to descale it.

Try vinegar , that usually works on water deposits. Just let it soak for an hour or so. If this doesn't take it right off, try putting some uncooked rice in the solution after the soak (for agitation) and swish around some more.
Good Luck!

white vinegar in a 50/50 water to white vinegar mixture...leave it to soak for half hour then rinse well and boil it at least once before you use it....ordinary vinegar works as well but it is harder to get rid of the taste!!!!
