It basically tells you what tone the song is going to be in. Inside of each key is a set of notes and chords that go together a certain way in order for that sound to work. In order for it to sound the way it is supposed to sound for that key. And in regards to putting 2 chords together, what are you studying? Guitar, piano? Learn your chords first. After you learn your chords putting together will not be a problem.

It means that the song is being played on that particular scale. Each scale has a different number of sharp and flats. When you play a song on another scale, it's still just the same song, but with different notes.

It means that it begins or circulates around that particular note and it has certain flats or sharps in whatever music is being played. about that cord thing, i dont really understand what you mean, so i cant help you there. Maybe you should ask a local music teacher, they can help you.

It's based on scales. Depending on the key (i.e scale), it tells you what notes to make flat, what notes to make sharp.
