I do despair when I see all the negative comments from people, instead of true positive criticism.

No one answer to this. All teams go through a cycle of being at the top, followed by a trough. Look at what happened to the Springboks after they won the world cup and they're still not totally out of it, even though they did win yesterday.

You can't blame Clive Woodward. Andy Robinson? I don't know. There is only so much the coach can do with and for the players, and these days you have individual coaches for different aspects of the game.

Look at Graham Henry. Derided by the Welsh players and public but a great coach for New Zealand. Yes he has a lot of good talent to choose from, however remember he was selected for the job by a comittee that had seen what had happened to Wales under his regime. What did they know that the Welsh rugby following public didn't?

Injuries recently haven't helped. A settled side or squad develops an understanding that you can't coach. Sometimes I think they are trying to hard and should stick to a more simple game plan. This would eliminate a lot of the errors that teams, like the All Blacks, always capitalise on. I know many will deride this and say we should play a more expansive game. How many tries have we conceded that have originated from England being turned over in possesion, or an England error, as opposed to tries actually constructed by the opposition? Again I would urge people to look at the way New Zealand play. I would not call them expansive. I would say that their style of rugby is conservative, based on a relentless defence, but always ready to exploit any error made by the opposition, ruthlessly and effectively.

I'll finish here, but would urge people not to write off England, the players and coaching staff, just yet. Everything that goes around, comes around. The Welsh know that better than anyone else.

They're in a transitional period at the moment, brought about by the fact that the team that won the world cup were relied upon for far too long after we won it.
