Depends on what you like best. Only you can make that decision for yourself. I prefer dogs to cats because I like their personalities better. I like to be able to take them to the dog park to run with the pack. I like to train them and teach them not to potty in the house, not even in a litter box because i don't like animals going inside the house.
I like cats but would want one only if I lived in the country where they could be indoors and out without worrying about them becoming roadkill and where they could have access to the outdoors to use the bathroom. Those are my preferences.

well it depends because say like you want a pet that you can take outside and run around and play w/ each other than u might want a dog and plus dogs are more active than cats so if you want a active pet that i think you should choose a dog that can keep up with you and that like to play.say you would like a pet that you want to keep inside the house.than you'd want a cat and say that you like both animals and you can't choose between the cat or dog so maybe you could get both pets.

It depends on what is important to you.
Do you want an animal that adores you, thinks the world revolves around you, and wants to be by your side all the time? Get a dog.
Do you want a cleaner, more independent creature, that you don't have to worry with as much, but will still cuddle when they're in the mood? Get a cat.
Do you want something you can keep in a cage, but when you take it out (at least once a day), they want to play, and you still train them to come to you when you call them? Get a rat. (They are amazingly wonderful pets, but they have a bad rap because of the wild pests.)
Personally, I love all 3! I have a dog and two cats and my kids used to keep rats.

We really can't say, it depends on the environment and you. Are you allergic to fur? How big is your house? What kind of pet would you like? Which is more convernient? How much time could you spend grooming your pet? How much time do you have for playing and training?
There are all different kinds of dogs, with all kinds of personalities and unique needs. If you like independant, affectionate, and intelligent dogs, get a Shiba Inu. They may be a little aloof with strangers, but it's fine. There coat isn't too hard to groom, and they're medium saized dogs.
If the traits independant, highly intelligent, active, friendly, curious, and playful appeal to you, get an Abyssinian cat. They're also tolerant of water.
Personally, those are my preferences, but if that doesn't fit into your lifestyle, go searching on the internet.

Both dogs and cats makes wonderful pets. So it depends on what you want from a pet and what time you have to train and spend with the pet. Dog are great companions but they require more time. They need more attention. This does not mean you can't have a dog if you work full time, It just means you have to make the most of the time you have with them. A cat is more independent, They require less attention and less interaction and less training. I am more of a dog person myself.

I personally enjoy the company of dogs. When I am sad and blue, my dogs know and they comfort me. When I am happy and chipper the reflect my mood with exuberant antics. When I leave the room and come back they act like they haven't seen me since last Christmas. I love dogs. They have high trianablity, there is a variety to choose from with tempermants that fit any lifestyle. Cats are nice if you like low maintence, minimal interaction and a nice little fur buddy to pet occassionally. Then you always have to consider crap outside or inside. No matter what you have to clean it up. I vote dogs!

I love them both-- cats can take a lot of care because of their coats, and if they are inside cats they need to be put on a special diet and they need to be brushed daily-
Your average dog-- they love to be played with and they are the type of animals that will listen to you and not walk off like a cat--lol-- and they sometimes need the occasional vet visit but they are one of the best man's best friends next to the HORSE!

it depends on the person, their living arrangements and how much responsibility they want to have. A cat is easier to care for and can go longer periods of time without somebody being home where a dog has to be let out several times a day.
A dog tends to offer more companionship though and will greet you at the door when you come home.

Dogs are cute fun and loyal. It all depends on breed too but in general Cats shed a ridiculous amount of hair.
You can't walk to the cat you can walk the dog

A DOG!
A dog is loyal and loving and is always there for you.
If you don't want a dog that sheds then get a short-hair.
For training you might want to go to a trainer.
A cat sheds a lot and cleaning the litter box is hard.
