Yes, you can send a formal request directly to Microsoft. They will be happy to hear from you.
Sacarsm aside. The genuine copy means you pay for all the people who ad all those new features. You cannot get upgrade patches on the pirate copy so if they is a security loop hole you are in big trouble. More importantly, you are stealing.

I know of a bootleg copy that has been working for 4 years, on 10 different computers. You have to install updates via "backdoor" method but, it works the same. Avoid contact with Microsoft servers, however. They will disable IE once they find you are running pirated software.DL the OS and a good WinXP Key gen. Note: For EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY!!! Software Piracy is illegal and immoral.Knowledge is to be shared.

It is fairly easy for people to get ahold of pirated / illegal versions of Microsoft Windows XP.
They can find ISO images of the Internet, download them and then burn them on a CD or a DVD. Then, they will use blacklisted VLK activation codes in order to be able to actually install Windows. Then, they will modify the Windows Registry or apply an automatic patch in order to disable Windows Genuine Verification.
That copy of Windows would work just as well as the genuine.
