From experience- being somewhere else is not necessarily going to make you happier. It's usually just a different place- same old stuff. And it's unfortunate that there is no one prescription for happiness. It comes to different people in different ways. I'm personally going through the same basic agonies you wrote here. I don't really like my job or where I live.... and I've only been here since August. I guess one point would be to try and shake up your routine- meet some new people, go volunteer somewhere. Community service really can do a lot to boost you self esteem and feelings that you've done something good.

Find a hobby, or volunteer to help somebody else. Maybe by seeing other people in a worst off position, you will be able to appreiciate what you have to live for.
Remember that there is always somebody with a harder life then you. Be happy for the simple things such as your health, your family or possibly even having a roof over your head. Read about the Taoist teachings and you will see that there are so many things to live and be happy for without material gains. Good Luck!

First of all I wouldnt be able to tell you how to make you happier depending on what kind of a person are you. Some people get happy by traveling and seeing other cultures. Some like to party. You will have to email me what you are like. and why ur sad. then ill tell u a solution.

Happiness is not the absence of stress, but the channeling of stress into areas that challenge you to grow. We are happiest when we are engaged, not when we are in limbo. Vacations are for rest. Life is for movement. Start getting active in things that stretch you as a person and you will be happier.

the secret to happiness is being content with what you have. if you're content, you don't want anything else, and i'm assuming that would make you happy (to have everything you want).

good luck!!
