how can i record wit my VHS player or my Dvd do i need naything extra

Um..VCR? Just make sure your cable feeds through the VCR to your TV. Hit record.

You've got several options: * Get a TV tuner for your computer. Many come with DVR software (I think Windows Media Center Edition, as well as Vista and WIn7 also come with DVR software.) Be sure you have a really large hard drive. * Get a DVD Recorder. Essentially a VCR, but uses a DVD-R instead of a video tape. You'll have to know the channel, day and time of the show you want to record, however. * Get a DVR. Tivo will work and won't require any changes to the cable account - however you may not be able to get certain channels without a cable card (which WILL require a change to the account) and you will need to get a subscription to the Tivo service ($19/mo or $300 lifetime - when it's offered.) Other DVRs are available but many require a service for the TV schedule, otherwise they're essentially no "smarter" than an old VCR.

No. just press the Rec. button on a VCR record it to a VHS(tape). i think the same goes for DVDs but i'm not sure.

They have some great dvd recorders out there now and they are not as expensive as they used to be.

You have to have a VHS recorder, not just player.

Buy a a VCR...they're practically giving them away...really really cheap.
