I have tried Kaboom and Mr muscle Limescale which is better I have also used Harpic 100% toilet cleaner which you can actually see working but really only for toilets. The Harpic 100% is definately the best so far.

At some DIY and 'Iron-mongers' you can get 'spirits of salt'. This will remove ANY and ALL limescale. It is corrosive and gives off choking fumes. So open the windows, and wear rubber gloves. It must not be used on enamel or metal surfaces. It should be diluted about 10 times with water. Apply with a paint brush and you'll see the limescale fizz and dissolve in seconds. If you spill any use a LARGE amount of water to wash it off.
When diluted 20 times it can be used to descale a kettle which should be thoroughly rinsed afterwards.

Don't know the best exactly but I believe Citric acid cleaners (ones containing Lemon Juice etc) are quite effective. One thing I always have found useful but laborious, is to use a key to gently scrape away the limescale from ceramics. Once the majority of it has been removed, the rest comes off a lot easier with household cleaners.

Honey, you are absolutely correct! I had the same problem. My husband finally went and used some enamel reducer (or paint thinner) and had to scrub the tiles and tub. I'd say it got off maybe 80% of the stains. We're going to seal it up with car wax! No joke! It helps keep the scales from forming again. If you find anything else, please let us all know. Godloveya.

HG Hagesan Scale Away

The HG Hagesan range of cleaning products simply outclass any equivalents on the market. More expensive - but worth every penny. Cheapest place to buy is EBay.

I use clr or vinegar, but if you can't soak it you have to keep it wet for a long time and rinse and spray over and over. With a little bit of scrubbing to boot
