Try using a hair dryer on the tape to loosed the glue, then peel up the tape as you go with the hair dryer, you can try using white vinegar mixed with hot water and a well wrung out cloth to remove any residue from the glue and one of the plastic putty knifes to lightly scrape...if this dosne't work try spraying WD 40 on the tacky areas, this should be safe as the main ingredient in WD40 is fish oil! Read directions on the can before using on the floor just to be safe...Good Luck

Try baby oil. It breaks down the adhesive but isn't flammable like lighter fluid. Do a spot test, but it should wash off easily.
