It really depends on your University policy. Talk to the Dean of Students. I have attended two different schools. The first had a policy where if the teacher or teacher's aid had not arrived at class within 10 minutes of class starting, the class could sign an attendance sheet, turn it into the dean of students and technically be excused. The University I attend now has a policy where SOME type of announcement must be made. .. recently I had to wait an hour and half for a professor to finish grading our tests but b/c she had her secretary come in an make an announcement it was ok. Good luck with this!

We used to have an unwritten rule of giving them 15 minutes before leaving. She has no right to mark people absent if she was that late. That's absurd. You should go to somebody above her to file a complaint.

This rule is a school to school policy. But if your class is for two hours, then you have to wait up to when the two hours are finished. etc. It all really depends on your policies in school. Ask someone in your school what rules apply.

I'd say 15 minutes. If he/she doesn't show up, put your name on a sign-in sheet and go. You're not paying to go to college just so you can sit and wait for your teacher!

Each college has a different policy. Ours was 10mins for a professor and 15mins if they had the title of Dr.
Dumb, isnt' it?
