I'm not sure about insane but perhaps they have another clinical disorder - Compulsive Obsessive Disorder.
Maybe they feel the world will collapse if they don't answer a couple of hundred questions a day.

I don't know if I'd reach answering over 10,000 questions but I agree that Yahoo Answers is addictive. Some people either want to help others or get some practice trying to answer in the best possible way. Some people like the idea of winning points by a voting or when the asker expresses gratitude. It's satisfying to the ego too that you are this level above the others.

I've wondered the same thing, bro. I look at these staggering answer totals from people like BeachBum and Blah and Isis, and I truly wonder how they have the time! I picture them staring, glazed-eyed into the computer screen at 4 a.m. and laughing manically. LOL. But I think most of them are stay-at-homes with no life, so at least it gives them something to do. You'll find 90% of these people are women, so their hubby I guess is out earning while they play. Or they still live with mommy and daddy. Most of us have lives and can't be online for 30 hours a week.

Yes, but so are people who answered 100. The difference is they have not been declared insane yet.

I think so, they need to go to accident and emergence for check up. This means they have nothing doing. Though they've not being scientifically declared insane but physically not okay

Not insane, just clearly too much time to sit and answer all of those questions. That or they are addicted.

Just have a lot of time to spare. Perhaps they are housebound by illnes/disability? I'm answering a lot today to distract myself from the passing of a family member.

It does seem quite an obsessive thing to be doing! It would be interesting to see how many are un-employed, single people!
