Well, it depends on your school. Schools have different systems.

I'm in 8th grade and we don't have showers, too. I'm not sure about High School, though. I don't think any school should do that. Your school is right about showers putting students in an uncomfortable condition. I just hope there are no showers next year in High School. However, ever since 6th grade we have to change into our uniforms in the locker room. I don't want to shower with other guys because it'll feel strange and it'll be uncomfortable.
In High School, I hope they have stalls so I can shower and change privately. I would never do it if we had to have group showers. I still don't support school showers but I believe if you have to, the school should use stalls.

Hey
I'm in 8th too
We don't take showers either, and the high school is the same way
I actually find this weird, because up until recently, most schools had you take showers
I'd rather take a shower than not
I hate going to class afterward and wreaking
And we do have showers at our school, it's just that we don't use them
Only the sports teams use them
I would use them, but they don't give us enough time
There's barely enough time to change before the bell rings
I really don't care about the whole "privacy" thing
Kids nowadays are way too self conscious
"Oh no, it's another guy naked!"
Just don't look
What are people so afraid about?

We took gym showers together from 7-12 grades. I have never heard of boys not taking showers together in middle school or high school. People take showers after gym (especially men) because they are sweaty and smell. Very few people want to go to any other class and sit around people of the opposite sex when they smell bad.
I think not taking showers after gym class is very unusual, if not abnormal. I'd like to know the story behind that policy.

we were always asked to in 6th 7th and 8th grades, but but only a few usually did...mostly because the coach freaked us out a little. if it were just the boys then it was no big deal. in high school , we had a big open group shower, but it was pretty much up to the individual to take part in showering. some boys are just more embarrassed to be nude with other boys and it is normal. there were some guys in high school who would walk around naked in the locker room anyway, so seeing another naked guy weasnt unusual. i feel that it is a good idea for teens to shower with their peers for certain developmental reasons and for the hygein side of it. it also helps to develope bonds amongst guys who are that comfortable with themselves and others.

For many it can be a very painful experience and humiliating one to take a shower in front of others the same age. I took showers when I was that age and it was not given a thought as to what anyone felt about it but only that everyone was going to do it regardless of what their feeling was. Actually I think it would be far better to ask each child what his/her feelings would be on it, if it would bother them or not and if they want to or not. Give them a choice in the matter and for those that do not feel uncomfortable with it, let them take one. After all, who wants to go all day smelling all sweaty when they don't have to? another way would be to have stalls just as they have with toilets and let each have their own private stall to take the shower in.

Dude I'm in 10th grade now and I dont take showers. My gradeschool for 8th grade didnt even have showers so thats why we didnt take them. In Highschool showers are optional (most people do not though). We never really get that sweaty anyway to the point that we need to take one. If I really did get that sweaty I could ask my gym teacher to take one and he would let me and whoever else wanted to go early and take one. The guys that take showers act like they dont even notice that they are naked. Even if someone made fun of your private parts you could just make fun of him for staring at your .....

Well, I went to an all-boys Catholic high school in NY. The policy of our school was NO SHOWERS PERMITTED after phys ed classes. and they meant it. Showers were only allowed after school hours for members of school sports teams , and for special reasons only. My high school NEVER explained why they forbid it. But it wasn't for the reasons of modesty of students' feelings. I feel it was for reasons of not to have students take up time in the showers. they want them in and out FAST - and onto their next class.
And I tell you - I swear to God - in that locker room, there was an odor - from all directions - of sour salty sweat, urine, s-h-i-t from boys' a.s.s.e.s who didn't wipe properly. - smelly feet like old cheese, it was a smell you could faint from this odor. Never will I forget that odor. Words simply cannot describe it. And the boys smelled this way even BEFORE they had their exercise. But this odor did not come from me - I was so clean & sanitary. but the others - Oh God have mercy on us for that odor !!!!!
I would certainly take a shower in front of other boys - no shame in that. I don't give a damn what others say about how small my penis is - I just don't care at all - If they don't like it - Tough S-h-i-t !!!!!
So I went thru the same as you and I survived. but I remember that odor until this very day. but I feel boys should be allowed to shower if they want - to be fresh and clean.

My opinion: kids should shower together from 7th grade and up. Children/teens start puberty around 7th grade, and it is important for them to maintain good hygiene. I also think they should shower together so that they can become more comfortable with their bodies, as well as compare thier development with that of thier peers. (I say that because many teens often wonder if they are normal in terms of maturation, but they have no sources to compare themselves to.) I also believe that showering together elliminates being overly modest. In current times, no one wants to acknowledge that we have anything under our clothes, so when we see a person nude, we freak out. This is not how a situation such as that should be handled. Everyone has the same parts and it will not make a boy uncomfortable to see another boy's penis and testicles.

exciting to take heed to that this continues to be happening. i exchange into in Jr hi no longer that for the period of the past and we had to bathe for pe, activities and enormously plenty each and every thing in the wellbeing club. It exchange into strange in the beginning up, yet you get used to it. And in all honesty, i'm particularly grateful because of the fact it allowed all human beings to work out that we've been enormously plenty a similar around the board. yeah some have been bigger, some have been smaller and men would be men no rely what, yet in the tip it brings you nearer. something approximately seeing somebody else bare that makes you style of bond, such as you men proportion a secret which you're able to guard from others. maximum faculties right this moment do no longer require showers because of the fact there is plenty homophobia and pedophobia in u . s . right this moment it particularly is merely straightforward ridiculous. men have been showering and bathing jointly bare for hundreds of years and yeah there have been some gays all alongside the techniques, even though it wasn't a extensive difficulty like it particularly is right this moment. And it particularly is different from they are going to the touch you or make you do something you do no longer choose to. they are merely fellow men, who take place to love different men, that does no longer mean they such as you. As to you being on the heavier area, i will sympathize with you, i exchange into in no way the skinniest one around and it sucks to understand that your dick seems smaller because of the fact of your fat pad. yet particularly, as quickly as you recover from the preliminary embarrassment and understand that enormously plenty another guy is in a similar boat, it particularly is not any huge deal. Boys have penises, it particularly is existence. Showers merely help you reside clean.
