I think I could forgive and try to forget depending on the severity of the backstabbing. I have before and other times I've done something wrong and they haven't forgiven so I know what both sides feel like.

I think that depending on the situation did to stab you in the back.
Such as if she/he slept with your man/woman, I dont think that is forgivable. This boundary should never be crossed.
Pretty much the situation will vary from friend to friend, as how long you been friends, do you think they are truly sorry or if their sorry because they were caught, do you think they will do it again, etc etc..........
I know we were all taught to forgive one another, but like I said depending on the situations severity of it, will you be willing to forget and move on.
I always say forgive, but sometimes its best to move on as well

It depends. If she did it once and apologized for it and TRULY meant it, then yes, I would forgive her but I would NEVER forget. It's hard for me to forget when someone has hurt me, and it's also hard for me to forget if I hurt someone else. In she did it numerous times, then I wouldn't forgive her. That would prove what kind of friend she really is.

Unforgiveness causes the root of bitterness to grow in your soul, and having bitterness is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die...so yes,..I would do my best to forgive AND forget!..so that all could be well with my soul.

I have a rule for people I care enough about to forgive...Forgive, but NEVER Forget... You don't need to dwell on it, but don't ever forget...thus it happens again!!

If this person is truly your BEST friend he/she would NEVER stab you in the back as they will ALWAYS have your back covered. So no I would not be able to forgive them.

That depends on whether or not they can regain that trust they violated..Sometimes if the cut is too deep I move on in order to prevent another such episode in the future..Lessons learned are lessons taught by experiences.
