Truth is everywhere, but one has to look for it, which requires discernment and willingness to sacrifice. It is love and willingness to sacrifice that overcome greed and other selfish motives. One has to look beyond the media culture and what is considered "normal" in our society today, but truth, beauty, and love are all available and much more worthwhile. It is common today to hear that every motive is selfish, but it is not true. To give an extreme example: In spite of those who will say she was doing what she chose to do and so was being selfish, the woman who put herself in the path of a bullet to protect the child on the playground was absolutely not being selfish, Her sacrifice was one of love. Otherwise, one can ascribe to the lie, and major cop-out that being selfish is what everyone does and so it is right. Then, no growth can happen and everyone will remain trapped in the lies of the pop culture.

Not really, only opinions. If they were one single truth equally accepted by mankind in which to base it motives, the whole world would not be in such a mess.

There's no such thing as motives, just mental justifications for our natural instincts. These mental justifications are usually lumped together under the heading of "Philosophy," in which there is no truth, logic, or intelligent thought.

GREED
because everything mankind does they benefit themselves from wether it be emotionally or physically or financially
It doesn't seem like a nice response but it is true
(if you do something good for someone else, you benefit from that good feeling inside; or are trying to get a spot in heaven)

It depicts what a person really wants to do. There is nothing truer than a person's motives.
