It depends on what you mean by end. If you mean the 8,000 mile ball of rock orbiting the Sun, if when the Sun becomes a red giant 5 billion years from now, the Earth falls into it and burns up, then the answer is 5 billion years, else probably 1 followed by 30 zeroes years, the amount of time it takes for a proton to decay.

If you mean life on this planet, that will probably end in 1 billion years because of the heat generated by the brightening of the Sun.

If you mean humanity, that is much harder to predict, but it will almost certainly be longer than a year. My guess is a few thousand years, based mainly on analysis of the Greenbank Equation.

There are two ways to look at this question. When will the planet end, and when will life on the planet end?

Assuming that we manage to avoid any asteroid collisions, alien invasions, nuclear wars and gamma ray bursts then the both should be the same.

The Sun is getting constantly warmer, and it is expected that in about 500 million years the sun will become warm enough to scorch the earth. As the sun gets warmer it will begin to get larger and will eventually consume Mercury, Venus, Earth and perhaps Mars.

The sun is probably not large enough to go Supernova, being a mere Dwarf Star, but it is expected to become a red giant in about 5 Billion years.

The planets will end when the star that is holding the planet in space exhauss its fuel . The planets in he solar system would end when the sun exhausts is fuel. it is estimated tha i twould take about ten to fifteen million years for he sun to exhaust is fuel. That roughly corresponds to the end of the Kaliyuga according to the Hindu calender .When the fuel of he sun is exhausted m hesun is said to enlarge so much tha all he planets around it would be gobbled up . This will increase he mass and density of the sun to a great exent tha he gavity would become infinite and even light would nt be able to escape thagravity . I might turn into a black hole . Another prediction is ha i migh turn ino a white dwarf om he stage of a red giant .Anyhow all the planets aound the sun would fall into the furnace of the sun and undergo a nuclear reaction o re-emerge in o new stars and planets . It is the order of the universe . That is change and incessant change .tha naure dontinuesto perform on he universe .

I bet if you asked that question at any point in history, people would answer "within a few years." Whether it's barbarian invasions, the black plague, or the threat of nuclear war, people always think the end is just around the corner. Such pessimists.....

And not to be picky, but your question asks when the planet will end. No matter how much pollution we produce or how many nukes we launch, the planet will still be around, even if we're not. So the true answer would be when our star expands and vaporizes Earth, in few billion years.

There are many things we don't know about the future. Science CANNOT accept anthing as true without experiments. Christians work with faith.

No one can predict a SPECIFIC year when the earth will be destroyed.

In the Bible, we read that God Himself will make a new heaven and a new earth. In Revelation, the word heaven does not mean God's home. Heaven refers to THE SKY, you know, where airplanes fly.

There are 3 types of heavens:

1-God's home

2-The sky we see everyday

3-Space..where the planets are located.

Anyway, getting back to your question, NO HUMAN being can predict the EXACT date of earth's destruction.

God is the ONLY BEING that knows when life on earth will end as we know it but God decided NOT to make known this DATE or any other FUTURE date in the Bible.

Trust me, ONLY ignorant people believe that life on earth will remain the same forever. History has made known that ALL THINGS eventually change, INCLUDING people and customs.

One Dec. 21, 2012..That is when the long used Mayan Calanender comes to an end the re-birth of the Earth will occur. I don't exactly know what will happen but i read on this website (forgot what the website was but they quoted from an article in a science magazine) that the sun might have a big enough solar blast around that time that might melt the Ice on Jupiter and fry everyone and everything on Earth.

Depends on what you mean by 'end'. Earth exists in the 'green zone' of the sun, a distance that is just right temperature wise for life. The sun is slowly changing and that green zone is slowly moving. In a few million years the green zone will pass us by and life will no longer be able to exist here. However, in about 5 billion years the sun will expand in it's death throws to encompas the earth and burn it to a cinder.

Some time in the next several years... 2009? Perhaps 2010.

When we humans nuke ourselves to death, we will probably take the rest of the planet's life forms with us. The way things are going, I would say in a year or two. Hope I'm wrong.
