He was born in Belgium, in 1900. In the '50 he moved to America and even married a woman there. I don't know her name or when he died, but his name was Johannes Jacobus Arthur Dinnewet. I believe that the last place he lived was New York or somewhere in that area. I tried searching him through sites of cemeteries in New York, but came up with nothing.
I myself am the daughter of one of his sons, I never knew him and acctually want to visit his grave one time. I just don't know how to find him.

I don't know for sure, but you could do a Yahoo seqarch, enter "death records, New York state" This gets you to the Dep't of Health vital records page. Click on "geneology records" on the right sde of the page, then scroll down and there are some offices listed you could call or write to. If they do not have the info, they may be able to advise you. Do same for other nearby states. Ask about doing a search for death certificate too. Good luck

Was he Catholic and buried in a Catholic cemetary in NY? I'd suggest trying the archdiocese of NY, maybe they have burial records or funeral records. You might also try Brooklyn if there is a seperate Diocese for that county which is also a borough of New York City. If he moved to the NY area around the 50's there is a good chance he may have lived there.

just say a silent prayer in your heart...wherever he is will feel that his granddaughter remembers him and that he has made an impact on at least one individual...
(Its also less costly...)
