Absolutely as the first person pointed out Hitler and Nepolian invading russia...iraq and veitnam are pretty much going the same....not trying to offend anyone but look at the policies. They just got different names and we now fight in sand instead of dnse jungle

It's not so much that History repeats it's self, as that people don't learn from history, A good example is Hitler's invasion of Russia, If he had read his history he would have seen what happened to Napoleon when he tried to Invade Russia, it wasn't the Russians that beat him, but the Russian Winter, Hitler made the same mistake and lost, History repeating it's self.

I can give an example from WWI and WWII.

In WWI a Battalion (The Lost Battalion) from The 77th Inf Div was was cut off in the Argonne Forest, surrounded and repulsed German attacks until relieved.

In WWII a Division (101st Airborne Division) in Bastogne, about 60 KM from the Argonne Forest, was cut off, surrounded and repulsed German attacks until relieved
