when you say that your screen is flashing.. do you mean that the hardware itself is playing about or that the desktop or window borders are flashing..

I was thinking perhaps you have turned on your sound sentry by accident.

go to control panel, accessibility options
look at the sound tab.. and if there is check in the sound sentry box.. uncheck it...

if this is not what you meant .. then do all the usual of checking that the display is plugged in proparbly... if its old perhaps it time for a xmas prezzy.

Is your cellphone close to your computer? If so turn your phone off then turn it back on. If your screen flashes with lines running across it that's your phone causing digital interference.

May be your monitor going out. But you can try adjusting the buttons at the bottom of the monitor. Good Luck,
