A ring main requires a 32 amp MCB. If its an very old consumer unit you may only be able to get a 30 amp.
Fred (above), not only sufficient, but maximum!!

If you're in the UK, then 32 amp but this used to be a 30 amp.

A TYPICAL ring main is 30A.
