believe me it gets out of your system enough to allow you to get pregnant straightaway. But from another perspective, doctors say give it 3 months for your cycle to regulate itself on its own. I got pregnant the first month I stopped.

It depends on what kind of birth control. Obviously, things like condoms, spermicide and diaphrams stop as soon as you take them off. For pills, they will stop working the month after your next period. Dr.s do recommend that you wait a few months though. Not because the pill will do anything, but just so that you are more regulated and they can predict a due date better. Things like the shot though can take a lot longer. And remember just because you are off the BC doesn't mean that you will be pg this month. I was off pills for 2 mnths and am now 12 weeks pg. If you can afford it, try using a ovulation kit to try to speed things along. Other than that, just enjoy the trying!!!

I used an IUD. The one I had was good for 10 years. I had it replaced with the marina which is good for 5 years and slows your period down if you are a heavy bleeder. I had it for two years. I got married and we decided to try and have a baby. So I went and had the IUD pulled out. It took less than 45 seconds for the Dr. to pull it out. That was on May 2ND. I started my period May 3rd stopped on or about The 11th and we tried for a baby. I am now am 28 weeks Sunday 29 weeks. Get information about the IUD. I loved the fact that I did not have to take a pill everyday. With the IUD I did not have to worry about missing a pill, once it was in I was protected. It is 99.98% effective. You can't get that from a pill or condom. This allowed me to plan for my 3 children 2 from previos marriage and one from my current marriage (baby on the way). I have used this method for years (34 years old now). I have three children now and with the help of the IUD I was able to PLAN for all of them. Although my first marriage didn't work out, I love the fact that I can share with my children that we did plan for them.

Best time to stop taking would probably be when you finish your sugar pills and just not start a new med strip. Or if you are on the patch just dont put a new one on. It will probably take a frew months I know that with Depo it's supposed to be 6 months to a year but with the pill I think it's only 3-4 months. Good luck.

i could bypass with the IUD if I have been you. I had the Mirena IUD for 3 years, and have at present had it bumped off to purpose for toddler quantity 2. The IUD substitute into painless to get in, I had it put in at my 6 week examine up after my daughter substitute into born. it somewhat is risk-free to apply while you're nursing your new child, and it lasts for 5 years!!! Plus you do not would desire to hassle approximately pills or something. the only think of i did not understand as quickly as I have been given the Mirena is it somewhat is can take awhile on your menstral cycles to return to commonplace after having the IUD bumped off. I had mine bumped off in December 2008, and interior the previous couple months my cycles have ultimately returned to commonplace, different than that, I enormously propose the IUD!

I was on the pill for 10 yrs and it took me 6 months to start ovulating again. It really depends on your body though. I have had friends who got pregnant the same month they stopped taking the pill.

Everyone is different. I was told that it would take 6 months or longer to have a normal period after stopping the shot, the month I was due, I had a normal period and have since then.

i would give it month to get completely out of my system... alhouhg you can actually get pregnant if you don't take it for 24 hours past your regular time. keep in mind though such a long time on birth control may cause your period to act weird for a couple months after you stop taking them.

it can take up to a year to get things back in the right swing.

I'd go off it and use condoms until you're ready to start trying.
