Our Royals are dammed if they do and dammed if they don`t aren`t they?
If the Prince of Wales and Camilla walked around wearing flip-flops, shorts, and shirts with sexy slogans all over them, and were seen jumping about in the fountain pools in Trafalgar Square, there would be a public outcry! They are very conscience that they are on view to the world every day so they do not wear `controversial styles of clothing. They tend to stick to the tried and tested apparel that they know works for them. I expect they wear quite different clothes in private. In any case would we really like to see Charles wearing "distressed" jeans that were full of holes and a shirt that he had torn the sleeves out of and left the ragged edges?. As far as the Princes are concerned, poor William must hate the thought of what he will have to endure. As for Harry, I don`t think he will ever wear anything that he dosen`t want to, or dosen`t like.

Charles is nearly 60 and his kids always pick on him for being, " a fuddy duddy" and yes he would look silly or crazy if he tried to dress young. And the princes are young and modern, but they just aren't punks, (except maybe Harry) they are preps. And I'm not sure if the royals should get with it in this century because this century seems to be the anti monarchy century in the UK.

because thats what aristocracy and very upper class people wear . I once worked as a nanny for a while for a very posh very upper class family .Never mind the clothes the adults wear ,their children are dressed the same as the fifties too and it costs a fortune These sort of people stick with their own class and they all wear more or less the same styles and have their own little culture .
but its what they`re happy with so it`s their right to dress as they please

Charles inherited Lord Mountbattens entire wardrobe and in addition has a mate what work at Oxfam in Tetbury, down by his holday gaff at Highgrove, and this person sorts out anything too unfashionable to sell and 'e gives ole big ears butlerer bloke a bell and round 'e comes to pick em up. Anything Big ears gets too fat for he lets the kids have.

if they saw a king or the next inline prince walking around city in clothing like yours, going to simple parites, do you think they take him serious. they'd think hes a joke and can't lead a counteyr. its all about image. they prabobly dress more lightly when they are at home, away from the press

Absolutely nothing wrong with the way the royals dress. They are a bit Conservative which suits me just fine. Those clothes are not from the 50s.

Stevie, when you are so rich you don't give a feck what you look like. Tofs never dress up to please anyone and good on them. Fifties clothes are so cool just now. Behind closed doors, they are probably the same as us, fighting, family wars and all that.

does anyone really know what the royal family wear when they are not out on public display?
so I dont think you can accurately judge what their taste in clothes is as they are expected to present a certain image to society

Yeah, I think they should move with the times and wear the same clothes as young people. In the early nineties he should have worn a shell suit. Now he should walk around with his trousers round his crotch and a spiky belt and stuff like that. Who does that Charles think he is? Wearing his own clothes which he likes. I ask you.

They pine for the past when they could exercise absolute power and terrorise the populace. Now it's all changed and all they have left is their outmoded dress and haughty manner which is assiduously protected by those, who in former times, they would have persecuted. Strange world, strange people and stranger royals.
