Sure, it's possible, but some motherboards pose a limitation on processor speed and use different sockets, like the motherboard I have now supports from Pentium 4 1.4 to 3.06 GHz and Celeron 1.7-2.8, but looking at your specifications on the HP website, you have an Intel Celeron (TM) 733 MHz processor. That is the height of the Pentium 3 or 4 area, which means you can probably expand it with the existing motherboard, but not by much (probably another 200MHz).

Since it is a manufacturer motherboard, chances are it is further limited to the amount of processors it can support. The supplier of your motherboard, but 1. HP doesn't release the model number of it and 2. The English version is down for whatever reason and I can't read Korean ;-) .

Also, most retail outlets would only stock the more "modern" parts (e.g. 2.0+ GHz range), you're less likely to find a processor unless you go on eBay, but even then it'll need the accompanying motherboard, but even that poses its own dilemmas.

No! The Celeron processor has been discontinued, and is extremely common. it is no longer even sturdy for a school student. as a substitute circulate to terrific purchase. for below a greenback greater effective than Walmart, you may get an HP Pentium Duel Processor for below $199

See if socket of the motherboard to the CPU is compatable. I am not sure if Celeron can be upgraded.
