What would you do if someone you met not that long ago gave you a really well thought out gift, something that obviously took time and patience, like something handmade.and they handed it to you on Christmas day, but you had nothing for them?

After giving them a big warm hug and thanking them profusely for thier generous gift and thoughtfulnes, I would be honest and tell them I didn't have anything for them. I think the person would understand. I think when you present someone with a gift, it is more about the "giving" and not the "getting".

I would except the gift and say my thank yous and then ask that person out on a date. Take them to there favorite place be it restaurant or ask them what their favorite dish was make and give it to them... Although the gift is late at least you attempted to reciprocate the jester

Would NEVER happen to me due to the fact that I have a gift cupboard. I have gifts for wnyone and everyone in short notice, ready to wrap or jsut throw in a gift bag with some tissue!

I am WONDER woman in the organization / readiness department... hear me roar !!!

Be gracious and accept the gift. It's not necessary to reciprocate the feelings or the intention. You are blessed that someone thought that highly of you to prepare something special.

I would make up some lie like you're present hasn't come and the next day I'll run out and get her something.

I would give something to them later and give an excuse why I couldn't give them that on chrismas day like it still didn't arrive from the store or something.
