yer i'd give my number to someone i met online, but only if i'd talked to them enough to know that they're actually someone who's worth talking to outside of the internet. if i had no intentions of ever actually wanting to speak to them, then there'd be no point in giving them my number. but i dont think i'd just post it anywhere public. i'm not too worried about 'stalkers' though.. i mean, alot of people are over cautious and worried and think everyone on the net is lying and is out to get them.. and you do hear stories about internet stalkers and stuff, so it does happen, but it's not as if every second person is out to get you or whatever. i don't know. in my mind it's just not as big a problem as some people are making it out to be. 99% of people have better things to do than stalk other people.

I have given my phone number to a few people
that I met online, all of which I had been chatting with
for awhile, like at least a year. I have called a couple of people in the past, but I have an ID Block on my phone, so that my name and number can not be seen.
I'll gladly admit, I'm phobic.

wouldn't post it on a public board like this or on some other public posting but have given it a few times to someone i've met on-line.Of course,i didn't give it the first time we met.only after a couple o'e-mail correspondence and got to know each other a lil' better.
it's understandable for one to be extra careful about one's privacy in a world where weirdos and creeps come in 'sheep's clothing" but on the other hand the level of PARANOIA has reached ridiculous levels where one doesn't even look eye to eye anymore,anywhere or "smile",or hold a door(not just for a cute girl but also for the old guy w/the walker BEHIND her!).
Plus,believe it or not...the number of people who are alone and so lonely but because of illnesses or depression have a hard time making even just ONE friend their WHOLE lifetime.
so,to someone I met on-line yes but randomly,like on a public posting(might as well put it on milk cartons or post it on lamp posts!LOL)like this for EVERYONE to see,uh-uh!

Post it no, give to someone I've met online I have. In fact I was to meet her one day but she backed out at the last minute. I hope she found someone nice.

I would never post it. But I would give it to someone that I met on line if I had a comfort level that they were WHO they said they were and not a weirdo.
