I am about 12 weeks pregnant now and my belly is bulging aot today... i have a thin layor of flab that i had since before pregnancy that i can pinch but then there is a huge bulge under that which is not pinchable and starts below my hip bones.... its very firm. I wasn't fat before pregnancy (infact family members were acusing anorexia- but trust me i eat normally) also i am short... only 5'2 and i was 115 lbs before pregnancy began. Here's my question is my bulge fat or is it just my uterus expanding? (in other words am i getting too fat too fast?)

you are perfectly fine, it's all baby weight. I am the same height as you and weighted the same amount before i got pregnant with my daughter, my stomach was hard as anything adn when i had her i went right back down. just kow that you are NOT eating fro two until your 7th month, just keep that in mind if you're worried about becoming fat. Only eat when you are hungry and not because other people are telling you too. My family tried to do that to me and it didn't work and my daughter is perfect. after you have the baby you will bounce back within a few days. hope i help and best of luck in your preganancy. babies are amazing and you will love everymoment of it, just becareful they grow up so fast. :(

Pregnancy is scary when you care about your body. I am 5'0 myself and curently 38 and a half weeks pregnant. When I first got pregnant my stomach was not in the best of shape. I wasn't "big" at all but it seemed like as soon as I got pregnant my stomach pushed all of the bulge I did have right out there. I looked like I had a beer belly for about the first 6 months of my pregnancy. Everyone carries differently. I have gained about 28 pounds my pregnancy. For smaller thinner women from what I have read it is normal to gain up to about 35-40 pounds. I gained about 1-2 punds every appointment. One appointment to the other I gained 9 pounds. It's so weird how that works. You also have to take into account that your body is retaining water too. I'm sure that you will be fine. I have to tell you that the biggest mistake that poeple make is thinking that pregancy is an easy pass to eating anything they want and not worrying about it. Some women may be able to do that. not me. Be careful what you eat for your sake and the baby's. Moderate your junk food, and when you have your baby you won't have as much to loose. Being pregnant definitly makes you appriciate your body. Good luck. I hope I could help some. But don't stress your body will go through many changes. One more thing: I use cocoa body butter from bath and body works on my tummy at least every other day, and I don't have one stretch mark on my belly. SO FAR!!!! Good luck.

With pregnancy theres really no need to worry about getting fat. Enjoy it. I know how you feel I've been thin if not anorexic looking my whole life. I've never even been close to being fat but now I walk past a mirror at times, stop and sigh. Its a little depressing watching your body go from something you can be proud of or atleas happier wih to this huge bulge coming out of your gut. The good thing about it is you aren't getting fat like your mind tells you. You are pregnant. Yes your hip are going to get bigger and your belly and boobs. Just enjoy that you can eat basicly anything you want. Only time you should worry is if you gain alot of weight in one month really fast thats a sign of preclampsia. (i dunno if thats spelled correctly.) So don't worry unless your doctor worries.

Your baby is just two inches, but I know many people who start showing at this age. It depends where your uterus is placed, I'm 20 weeks and you can barely tell that I'm pregnant (and my baby is 10 inches.) That's because my uterus is tilted back. But if yours if more forward, you could be feeling your uterus already. It's probably a combination of both :) Good luck :)

I was about your same size before I got pregnant (5'2 111), its probably baby and you are growing! Congrats. Babies tend to show more easily on thin people. Get ready before too long you will really be getting big. I showed at about 14 weeks with my son and small tummy at 8 weeks and pretty much big tummy by 12 with my twins

Every woman starts to grow at different times. I am 15 weeks and started getting a baby bump at about 10 weeks and had to go into maternity pants at 14 weeks. If it is firm, then it is definitely your body changing for the baby!!!

Congratulations!!! And don't worry... it is all normal.

Its probably not the baby just yet, but it is your uterus. If you are 12 weeks, you may want to start paying close attention you may feel the baby move a little...I am 12 wks and can feel it...

Congrats to you!!

are you serious? You're three months pregnant, of course your uterus is expanding. By three months its more than normal for you to be able to tell you have a baby belly. Others probably wont notice for a couple months yet, but you certainly will.

Your not getting too fat to fast. It's healthy for you and the baby, because that excess fat you see may save your *** when you go malnutritious and the baby needs vitamins. Don't worry about staying thin while being pregnant......it's not gonna happen.

around 12 weeks the uterus starts to move up, so that is your baby.
