My doctor said that she thinks I have a week at the most before I will go into labor. The baby's head is at station 0 and I'm already 3 centimeters dialated. That was Tuesday, today is Saturday. I'm on edge (in a good way) thinking this baby will come soon!!!! Had anyone else been told this? Am I getting my hopes up? I don't feel like I can go into labor any minute, but then again it seems unreal like it will never happen altogether. I'm so exited but don't want to be disappointed if I go more then a week? Anyone have any feed back or personal experiance?

You can be dialated for a few days before actually going into labor. Now if your water happens to break that's a different story. Just try walking, nothing strenous, maybe a stroll. That might help. Have you been having any sickness or diarrhea? I know it sounds gross, but it's just mother natures way of getting you ready. You also didn't mention if this is your first or second or more. That can also make a difference. Either way less than a week to go. Try relaxing and getting a little sleep. Won't be doing that for some time to come after that baby gets here.

When babies come is subject to endless speculation. The fact that you are at 0 station means that the baby is into the birth canal. With first babies, the baby can be there a little while.

When you lose your mucous plug, the baby is typically less than a week away. I lost mine, and with both kids was in labor less than 3 days later.

Best wishes for a speedy and relatively painless delivery of a beautiful healthy baby!!

Just stay active, its the best thing you can do. It'll occupy your mind, and help move dialation along.

It can take days or weeks for labor to kick in all the way. But the more active you are the quicker it wil happen.
