once a month for check ups. To monitor your health and the baby's development. Blood work and urine samples are checked for health issues in the fetus.

After 32 weeks of pregnancy, or 8 months, you start going every 2 weeks to check the progress of the baby and make sure things are setting up right for delivery.

After 36 weeks you generally go once a week, to check your cervix and make sure labor is coming along as it should when it should.

Well right away when I found out I was pregnant I called the Dr. and made an appointment. They like to see you when you are about 2 months along, but you can't always know that. When you start going they will feel your uterus (internal exam) to see how far along you are. Then you will be seen back (depending on your doctor and situation) every month. Then later in pregnancy you are seen 2 times a month and then when you get to I believe 36 weeks you are seen once a week. At your visits they check your urine to make sure that your sugar level is OK and everything. They check your blood pressure and measure how big your uterus is getting. After so many months they also start checking the baby's heart beat once it is more developed. Later you get your blood tested to make sure that you don't have gestational diabetes ( a type of diabetes you can get only while your pregnant) and they check if you have enough iron in your blood. Make sure you go to the store and buy some prenatal vitamins right away. Not only are they good for the baby, but my nails look great, my hair grows faster and my skin is better than it ever has been. Everyone is different, but I love those things. Good Luck!!!

You go to the Doctor as soon as you suspect that you may be pregnant to make sure that you are actually pregnant. This is a preventive measure that you are pregnant. Then you go for tests to make sure you and your baby are healthy. At the start of your pregnancy it is once a month then when you reach the end it is usually once a month and up to once a week.

You go immediately after finding out that you are pregnant. then you go once a month until your third trimester. During your third trimester you'll go once every two weeks until your last month and then you'll go every week. Every time until the end, they make you give a urine sample so they can check your Ph level, to check for toxemia, they'll check your weight, blood pressure, the heartbeat of the baby, etc. The first visit and towards the end they'll give you a vaginal exam. At the beginning to verify you're pregnant and how far and at the end to make sure you're not dilating.

to start off with about once a month until youre in your third trimester then it is once every 2 weeks for like a month and a half and then it is every week
(for a normal pregnancy- high risk would be more often)

and these are to make sure the baby is developing correctky and to address any concerns you would have.

The first and second trimester you go at least once a month. They measure your abdomen (uterus), have you do a urine test (tests for protiens in your urine) and may listen for a fetal heartbeat, after 10 weeks w/ a fetal doppler and 20 weeks w/ stethascope. (sp?)

Usually ultrasounds don't happen until 16 weeks or later (for gender determination if thats what the parent/s wanted) but some people may get one sooner if they have gone through fertility treatments, are possibly having multiples or don't know the date of their last menstural period.
