I love what Christmas was in the past. Family. Friends. Nativity.
Christmas has become so commercial anymore. Retailers putting out Christmas stuff right after Labor Day. It is big business for the greedy retailers. People putting up Christmas lights and decorations before Thanksgiving. By the time Christmas is here, everyone is sick of the holiday. The radio plays Christmas music non-stop for a month. Cards always meant letters from family and friends faraway, now it is generic emails. Whatever happened to Christmas Carolers going around the neighborhood of years ago? The main item left out is the birth of baby Jesus, how can we forget him?
It just makes me sad how it has changed. So superficial, just like this society.
The spirit of Christmas is being lost, this country needs to find it again.

I absolutely love it. It's the only time of the year when my entire family is together all at once. It's just a nice, warm fuzzy feeling I get being around family that I truely love. And it always bring back memories of being a kid at Christmas. However, I do hate the commercialism, and the "gimme, gimme" attitude a lot of kids have nowadays.

I like the attempted cheeriness, the giving to charity and the lights and decorations in public places. I hate the pressure to buy and judge the quality of presents, and the fact that I don't "love" Christmas and am made to feel a Scrooge 'cos I can't get into the somewhat commercial spirit of it all.

I love it because of the spirit you get into at this time of the year. Putting up the tree and decorations, buying presents for special people, preparing the roast on xmas day. I love xmas eve, it's the best!! I love wrapping up my husbands present and knowing he will open it the next day. The feeling of going to bed and anticipating the coming day... I'm not religious but it's more about family for me than anything else. I love being with my family and friends, and it's the one day of the year where everyone comes together from miles away just to see each other!
