I felt sorry for Israel, and the persicution of the Jewish throughout history. Now I think they have a chip on their shoulder and now they should be told to calm it in a bid to halt the tit for tat killings.

What you all think about that?

I am not anti-semetic nor am I pro-palestinian - just a bloke who can see that one wont give an inch to the others.

I would hardly call shooting a Palestinian with a TOW missile "Defending Itself", these are the actions that cause the hatred and Iranians to fund them.

For some of our US readers, you can find out more from watching an unbiased BBC than the US news channels.

There's never been peace in the Middle East and never will be so it's a moot point.

The US does call some of the shots in Israel. Remember in 1991 during the first Gulf War? Bush ordered Israel not to respond to Saddamy's attacks against her. Israel complied, and in doing so violated her own Constitution. When an American President "asks" Israel to exercise restraint, she usually does, which allows the terrorists to regroup. And US money is keeping Israel from doing what any other country would have done to the "Palesinians" long ago.

If the "Palestinians" would refuse to fight, they'd have their second state (the first is Jordan). If the Israelis would refuse to fight, there'd be no more Israel.

edit: I noticed some of your added comments and feel compelled to comment:
* TOW missiles: I don't know what Israel missiles uses to whack terrorists, but I do know with absolute certainty that the terrorists frequently use children as human shields, often using them to goad IDF soldiers into firefights.
* Iran and Syria could care less about the "Palestinians." If Iran and Syria are so concerned about their Islamic brothers, why don't they set up a homeland for them?
* BBC is more biased than their American counterparts. They frequently allow anti-Jewish and anti-Israel rants from their "journalists," while firing one who was critical of Arabs (link below).

I agree with you. Many ignorant people think that just being anti Israeli is anti semite, that's just silly. We all understand that the Jews of Europe have suffered tremendously by Nazi brutality.

The theory of moving a group of people to a far away land with a completely different culture doesn't work. Now, would you agree to a stranger giving away your house to a tramp? I don't think so. That's what the Palestinians felt about the creation of Israel.

The Zionist extremist culture that prevails in Israeli politics is in everyway violent and extreme. They recently rejected two peace proposals, one from the Europeans and one from the Arabs. Do those people really want peace? I doubt it. Everything has to go exactly thier way. That's one of the fundemental attributes of an extremist.

They are not God's chosen people, they are humans like of us. If they wanted to settle in thier land, they could have done so peacefully with respect to order.

The Zionists extremists are basically morally bankrupt. The US would always blindly support Israel, because Zionist culture and thier line of thinking is deeply entrenched within US politics, society, business and media.

Only time will tell as to what the future holds for the Zionist extremists. One day, the truth will be revealed, God willing.

What Israel has and is doing in Palestine (a country they are occupying illegally) wipes out all of the sympathy they have generated over the years since WW2.
They are in total collusion with the USA to dominate and control the ME for their joint benefit. Oil & Land.
This whole issue could have been solved long ago if Israel had complied with the UN resolutions in giving back the stolen land to Lebanon (Hadetha farms), Palestine (Gaza & West bank) and Syria (Golan Hieghts).
It is not too unreasonable but the USA and Israel say no.
The question is why will the USA and Israel not comply with the UN on this issue that would bring peace.
The world should put sanctions on them both, but our weak politicians have not got the courage.

I think you got it all wrong, except for the chip! The chip needs to be their, because the Israeli's need to be at the top of their game, at all times.

Rarely in Israel's 58 year history, has any nation been able to tell Israel to "calm it a bit", including the US. These people are in charge of their own destiny, and anything as wishy washy as US politics, isn't going to have much influence over that.

If you lived in a land surrounded by fanatical islamists who have one collective agenda, that being your total annihilation, would you be calming it a bit? I think not! The jews are doing what the US hasn't the balls to do, that is taking care of #1. I like their tactics, which are purely defensive except when attacked! I admire their courage! I believe in their under use of democrats favorite tool, diplomacy! And, I believe Israel will survive!

I'm still trying to figure out where GWB dropped his stones. This is the one guy that seemed to have the tenacity to geet the job done. And now this talk about Iran and Syria pitching in to make eace? Is their anyone in the US that honestly believes that this can happen? Oh maybe initally, but as soon as the US troops are gone, we will see a civil war, or we will see this thing spill over to other middle eastern countries, strategic countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, or UAE. Or worse, we will see the Israeli problem re-ignite.

Firstly, its rein in, as in hold back the horses, and not reign, which is a description of what a a serving monarch might be doing.

But yes, America does need to 'rein' in Israel before the utter right wing twats, on both sides, fan the flames in the Middle East.

However, Arab and Jew being friends is not in the interest of America, and while this woud be joyous news, America needs a rogue dog in the area to do its dirty work.

The US was and is controlled by the Jewish pro-Israel lobby and media. The US will NEVER reign in Israel until it liberates itself from this parasitic relationship. Pigs will fly and more American soldiers and tax dollars will die before that happens.
Israel's misery is it's own creation by conspiring in the 1930's to make Palestine into a wholly Jewish state regardless of what the Palestinians and Christans thought.

youre obviously very naive .first of all to think that israel is in anyway to blame for the conflcit with palestine , but perhaps moreso for suggesting the BBc is unbiased.
The BBC is recognised nationally as completely biased to the left and makes no secret of this.
In fact , i think watching the bbc could be where you get your blinkered ideas from.
This is how it works.
the crazed islamic fundamentalist leaders of syria and iran do not recognise israels right to exist and never will.
they are also very wealthy oil rich countries who can easily influence states such as lebanon and palestine.
In essence syria controls lebanon and palestine.
Syria doesnt have the international sympathy that palestine has as the "downtrodden underdog"
But it can manipulate the backward peasant ppl of palestine to capitailise on that sympathy, pretendingthe crisis is of a geopolitical nature.Of course really it is about ridding the territory of western democracy.
Israel is the only genuine democracy of the middle east , it is a cultured , respected state , that provides adequate infrastructure for its ppl.
It also provides adequate defence for them, israel has the military might to annhialate all of its neighbours but shows remarkable restraint considering the constant harrassment and shelling of its residential areas.
The land belongs to israel, it was the land of the israelites long before islam ever existed.
The land was also deserted and derelict when it was awarded to them by the british.
Syria and iran are the enemy, using palestine and labanon as pawns.
Stop the evil of those 2 countroes and palestine will be a willign partner for peace .

The only place in the world called Palestine today is in Texas.

"The fact is that today's Palestinians are immigrants from the surrounding nations! I grew up well knowing the history and origins of today's Palestinians as being from Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Christians from Greece, Muslim Sherkas from Russia, Muslims from Bosnia, and the Jordanians next door. The civil and tribal wars between Yemenites (from Yemen) and Kessites (from Banu Kais of Saudi Arabia) ... are well known among Palestinians.

"My grandfather, who was a dignitary in Bethlehem, almost lost his life by Abdul Qader Al-Husseni (the leader of the Palestinian revolution) after being accused of selling land to Jews. He used to tell us that his village Beit Sahur (The Shepherds Fields) in Bethlehem County was empty before his father settled in the area with six other families. The town has now grown to 30,000 inhabitants."
- Walid, a Palestinian Arab defector, talking about the recent immigration of Arabs to Palestine. quoted from "Answering Islam"

Ramallah (AsiaNews) – Burned school rooms, church window panes destroyed, bible study halls set on fire and Catholic youth threatened by Muslims: thus runs a list of escalating violent attacks against Christians in Ramallah since Hamas won the election.

A parish priest, Fr Ibrahim Hijazin, 55 years old, reported the violence to AsiaNews. Fr Ibrahim has been the parish priest in Ramallah for nine years and for 13 he has been running the Al Ahliyya school that educates poor Christian and Muslim children. The college was set up in 1856, in the time of the Ottoman Empire, and it had never been the target of violence before.

Once upon a time, Ramallah, the seat of the Palestinian presidency, was considered to a Christian city with at least 40-50,000 Christians. Now at least 30,000 have emigrated to America and countries in the Gulf. Now, as a result of the emigration, out of an overall population of around 40,000 people, Christians number around 10,000, sub-divided into Orthodox, Anglicans, Lutherans, Melkites and Catholics, who are around 2,000..."

Other Christian communities have also been targeted. On 20 March 2006, the Lutheran Church had all its windows and panes of glass broken. The headquarters of the Protestant bible association of Birzeit “Living stones” was burned down. On the doors, someone had written: “Oh Prophet of God, [we are] at your service!”

The Historical Political and Spiritual best position for America is Neutrality.

The Gaza conflict was first recorded by the Egyptians in 2500 BC.

All the Nations that got entangled in the area suffered as a result of it.

If you believe in God then you know aiding and abetting any Nation outside of the will of God is a sure invitation to destruction.

I see no end in our lifetime.
