WELL, I was born in Huntsville and raised in Austin for a few years and then Houston for the rest. I live just on the outskirts of Houston right now. I love Texas, I'm proud to be from here. But maybe there are some people who don;'t like it for the same reason the Dixie Chicks got into so much trouble....."dubya", George W. Bush. With people like him coming from here is it really any wonder that people think we're all a bunch of ignorant redneck hillbillies?? He's the leader of the free world, so he represents us bigger than all the people who do good and actually do positive things.
Not all of us from Texas are idiots!! And not all of us from Texas have accents!! I moved to South Carolina for like a year and a half and people wanted to know if I was from Texas, Where was my accent....I just told them I guess I lost it at the border.

God Bless Texas!
and Don't Mess with Texas!

Now I am going to answer this honestly so nobody get offended...
The majority of Texans are born and raised there. It is also a redneck haven so in saying that ..i'm trying to think of a 'politically correct way of saying... Texans are southerners and are not too culturally diverse... There are alot of southern country folk who can't remember who won the civil war and a little loud-mouthed too. Also, they are some racist people. Not just a few, the majority...they are stuck in the time where America was the highlight of the world and things weren't as diverse i.e. african americans, gays, urbanites. They don't support or encourage the changing american society. Sorry to put it out there for you but that is what we think of Texas.

It amazes me how many people think that everyone from TX is a redneck. It's my home-state... born and raised and I am far from a redneck. It's funny to watch some movies portray it as something it isn't. I may have an accent, for which i am VERY PROUD OF... but, it doesn't make me stupid or a redneck. Hilarious, really.

I don't not like Texas. I just would never travel there, or move there. (and I can't stand the accent) Nothing wrong with the people or anything, just listening to the accent drives me crazy!
