These kids are finding these weird burn like marks on the back of their parents and teachers necks. a group of kids follow them to this forrest where the adults get sucked underground. while later the military gets involved and sends down a team to what looks like a quicksand pit and enter an alien ship underground.
thats about all i can remember. for some reason "invader or intruder" seems to be in the title. but i can be way wrong.

Invaders from Mars (1986)
One of my favourite movies. It has a classic scene with the school teacher swallowing a frog whole.

My friend thinks it might be Invaders From Mars (1986) a remake of the 1953 movie.
Don't think there was a movie in the 80's just titled Invaders or Intruders.

"Invaders from Mars". The original was made in 1953, then remade in 1986.
If you haven't seen the original, you should check it out, it's worth a look.
