well my grandma and grandpa are divorced so we have like 3 different parties. normally we have a party with my grandpa in the afternoon, and then my grandma comes on chirstmas morning.
and my other grandma has a small gathering at her house, but we haven't done it in awhile.
well sometimes it is nicer opening on christmas eve when you have a big group, but i think it would be better if you had christmas dinner then open presents, because then everyone is there.

We celebrate on more on Christmas Eve due to custody issues within the family. So for the younger kids that thinks theres a santa they get a gift on Christmas morning. All the kids know that santa only brings one gift so that gift will be there on Christmas morning, but all other gifts will be open on Christmas Eve. Christmas day is a day for relaxation and enjoying our new presents the same as you do on the day after Christmas.

We always do it this way... We have never opened presents on Christmas day !!!
Christmas is NOT about the presents anyway... take a step a back, take a deep breath and be thankful you have family to be with for many do not get the opportunity to be with those they love !!!

Santa Clause comes on Christmas Eve when the kids are asleep!! When they wake up and see all the presents Santa brought them and how different the tree looks with all the presents around it...just the look on the children's faces...that's what makes Christmas morning so special to me and my husband. I wouldn't do it...maybe let them open a gift or two, but don't make it the big event for your children. It only comes once a year and it's not something I would be willing to compromise.

Just open the presents from her, and to her. And make a nice ( but not Christmas) dinner. That would be fair.
Also i have read in the answers to your question about ALL the presents from Santa. i have always taught my kids that Santa only brings ONE present, the rest are from me, family, etc. that way kids that do not get as many presents as mine or visa versea do not think Santa likes them better, or that they don't deserve as much as others. ( Just food for thought)

I'd want to share Christmas with the Aunt. The exchange of personal gifts to each other and dinner wouldn't worry me. I'd be saving my kids Santa presents for Christmas day though. The more sharing and love we spread around, the happier and nicer world it is to live in. Merry Christmas.

The French-Canadians, Creole in Louisiana as well as France
have a Feast on Christmas Eve which is called Reveillon
(pronounced REV-e-yawn). The centre of this feast is the Tourtierre which is basically a minced meat pie (or pies if you are serving many). Usually this meal is served after midnight mass but you could have it earlier of course. (reveillon means
'stay awake')

Reveillon from New Orleans
- you'll notice - Bûche de Noel - a favourite in Quebec
It is commonly known as Christmas Log in english. Cake with
cream filling covered in chocolate.

Candied oranges and lemons.
Note: Crème de cassis is a blood-red, sweet, black currant-flavored liqueur.
(some reveillons feature the tradition of the 13 desserts!)

If we are up North my husband and I would open our Gifts on Christmas Eve and go to my parents on Christmas eve for supper. Then back to my parents for Gifts and go in the afternoon to sisters. It varies each year. When we open presents and dinner.

We always did. One set of grandparents on Christmas Eve, the other set on Christmas Day. Not just presents, but food, singing and general good will. Jesus is big enough to get more than one day of celebrations.
