Hmmmm, any merits.....any merits.
When you stereotype you are giving the same traits, personality, mind to every person within that specific group. Is that a good thing? I do not want to be stereotyped. I want to be judged, criticized, liked or disliked for being me----not because of my age, gender, culture, religion or anything else. Personally, I kind of like being unique and would prefer not to have traits "assigned" to me!!
So, in my humble opinion, no---there are no merits to stereotyping people.
Now, if you're talking about stereotyping in literature or science, that's completely different! ~grin~

I wouldn't think so, as everyone and everything is different. If you stereotype, people can really get offended. Try to keep an open mind and accept all people.
