i cant seem to dump my hard drive to start all over, i dont have recovery cd's for this puter, but i do have xp on cd, so i took a hard drive out of a dell and tried to put it into this puter which is a pionex elitite, and it cam eback with a hardware issue so im guessing that the dell hard drive is no good? or maybe not compatible?

Probably it is a compatibility problem. Type in a search engine the following:

HDD +Dell +Pionex +Compatibility or
look for brand, number and model of the HDD
and type into search engine

how to find compatibility of so and so HDD

You will get some pages. Coose the one ofd the makers, and there find out with what machines, systems and processor and sizes is the HDD compatible with
