What I do with my kids...is i tell them they can't date until they are old enough to drive. I think that is about the right age.

I would say 16 is the perfect age. Sounds like you're keeping on track and don't be bothered by what your friends say, I mean you should have high expectations and care about your reputation. I was the same way at your age and I look back a see how all my other friends got pregnant, were passed around with different guys, and just overall had bad reps. Just take your time and with the whole dating thing. In the long run you'll be the one ending up with good love relationships and good men because your thinking smart instead of your friends who are just getting with guys just to fit in with the in crowd.

Keep your expectations high girl! good for you. When I was in High School, I was so worried about my rep, I just didn't do a whole lot outside of school. I dated my HS sweetheart, yeah. But, date when YOU are ready. Not when your friends think you should, or anyone else thinks you should. This is your life we are talking about here. And just because you go out, or date someone, doesn't mean you have to "do anything" with them. If they pressure, just make excuses as to why you can't. You are probably going to get answers on here from "Do it" to "Wait". As a new mom (who still thinks she's a kid), and waited in HS; a woman who has 2 younger sisters one of whom is still in HS (16)...I'm not telling you what to do. It's your decision, your rep, your life. You know how mature you are, and if you can handle dating, and are able to say no, if the pressure is applied, then you have you answer.

I don't see anything high in your expectation. As for when to date, that's an individual thing. What I think, though, is that it's best to be more intimate in dates slowly, and not too attached early on. 16 is an ok age for going to the movies and some intimacy with guys your age, but I would wait before taking it any further.

UHH ya know it makes me mad y'all made her hide her answer just because she said 13!! I'm 12 and I date, have since I was 10!! There is no certain age that's perfect for everyone, I mean you can't jst tell the girl from what she said, you don't know her, for all you know she's a dude (not saying you are a dude just defending u)!! And the same wit hyour kids one may be ready to date at 8, and the other may not be ready till she's 28! So don't make her hide her comment again because there is no right answer!!! Hide me if u want but I was just telling my answer!!

All my friends are 13-14 and date. Now, everyone is different and seeing as that you don't really want to go out with anybody, you're not ready. If you want to go out, go out with a guy you like and that is interested in your personality as well. There really is no specific "age" but a time in your maturity that you want to commit and jump into the dating pool.

well there is no spesific time, well it would be the time that you are ready and you are mature enough and you know what you are doing, dont push yourself too hard on going to a date make sure that if you are going to date someone, make sure you are ready and you are comfortable with the guy, dont care if people around you have boyfriends you'll have one soon in the right time, you should also build up your self-confidence.

I would say 16 is a good age to start dating. Just keep your options open have fun be safe and don't do anything that you are not ready for. Make sure that school comes first along with your self respect.

i don't think there is any age that is "appropriate" for dating, it all depends on when you are ready, and no I do not think its wierd that you have never had a boyfriend, its just most girls are afraid of getting hurt in a relationship, but yet i do not think there is such a thing as true love especially at our age (im 17). there is nothing to worry about with your rep, guys talk a lot of sh1t, just whatever you do, keep your legs closed, it is nice to explore around your age.
