I truely believe it's because people are scared or dismissive of things that they don't understand. Science might be a wonderful thing but it truely doesn't have all the answers. One day, it might catch up with homoeopathy that has been around over 200 years (but based on principals much older) & as a registered practitioner, I dread that day. Homoeopathy is a pure practice that recognises that we are all different & therefore need different remedies for US not our ILLNESS. If you look at "studies" & "research" it's no wonder that people try to say that homoeopathy is a load of rubbish. The trials are applied without respect to the individual nature of the practice so it's no wonder that "the remedies don't work". I remember some "research" that was done about 10 years ago where a selection of women were given a remedy after their hysterectomy. Lo & behold, not a lot happened! Might this be because the women were all different people, having hysterectomies for different reasons, had different healing responses, had different lives etc? Next time you see a report that rubbishes this wonderful practice, look to see how individual the prescribing was as I'll bet there was nothing individual at all. I spend HOURS some days working on cases to find the remedy for that person - it's not just a matter of looking up an illness & picking a remedy.

It is only middle level science that cannot accept homeopathy. Biophysicists and molecular scientists have plenty of scientific evidence on the efficacy of homeopathic remedies. "Proving" that it "works" in test studies is difficult because it is a true holistic discipline which treats the person not the problem, so that three people suffering from the same issue will require three different remedies for cure. Even if the three people have a perfect healing - the results are only anecdotal because you cannot repeat the same study as there will not be three individuals exactly the same.
Interesting that your first answer says that remedies are ineffective, and then adds that they can interfere with conventional medicine. That would be a pretty strong effect if it were true. Homeopathic remedies work on an energetic level - which is why kids and animals, so close to the life force, respond so quickly.

byderule has it correct thou' terrible in spelling.
It threatens conventional medicine and it's theories. It's the Drug Companies running the Pharmacies and Hospitals and they fear loss of profitability. In some ways that is true.. we can pick catnip for upset stomach or sore throat. Dandelion tea is great for combating many cancers and the common cold. It's doctors that really start degrading the Dandelion cause they know it could affect there business. Those that say they are looking for cures to combat cancer they are just looking for symptom hiders.. and their funding would dry up if they admit to homeopathy or herbalism as an acceptable healing practices.
They are trying to get people in the denial stages wanting people to think it is just placebo. If it were placebo how come the Indians and others before modern meds were much healthier than those on conventional meds? Modern Medicine is more concerned with profit than healing! They don't want to heal
anyone they only want to treat the symptoms.
Whereas homeopathy and herbalisn treats the cause when properly given! It is getting accepted in some areas of the medical community when they can see a profit from it!
Remember they are more concerned with $$$'s
than healing!

There was an article in a medical journal recently touting it as bunk but you need to wonder then why it works on animals and children who have no preconcieved notions of what they are taking. I think when there are articles denouncing certain things then it is more threatening to the established medical field than they are willing to admit.

Homeopathy has been around for over 200 hundred years compared to modern medicine. Its also cheap and easy to use. Its picking the correct remedy that takes careful consideration and understanding.

.Basically 'science' means it can be duplicated by any investigator. All 'science' starts out as theory until enough support can be garnered by the original hypothesizer.
Homeopathy is a science but few people have the intelligent to apply the teachings correctly.
Homeopathy is just like a computer. If you deviate from the principals and teaching even by 1 millionth it will not work.... Just like your computer. Leave out one period, comma, one misspelled word and it does not work. This is real science. Exact, precise and perfect it. Most of what is understood as science is simply superstitution believed by the brain washed masses. All real truths are always rejected by the masses and the 'powers' in control.

Few natural products are accepted as "Real" treatment but there is one I know of that has been accepted and refered to by the FDA.
It even has some awesome patents behind it and is covered in the USA by medicare and medicaid in certain States.
A natural product to be placed that high has to work.

That's only in the United States. The reason it's not widely recognized is because it might cut into the outrageous amount of money the rest of the medical profession is extorting from the American people.

Much of homeopathy is mingled with wacky folk remedies that don't work. Much homepathic therapy is accurate, but some are not.

Because, scientifically, homeopathic drugs are proven to have no effect, or benefit, and can also interfer with normal prescription medicines.
