The moral fiber of America?

Let me tell you about th moral fiber of America. America used to repect the rights of her citizens. America used to oppose ideas such as torture and extrordinary rendidition. America used to be the land of habeas corpus. America used to support the idea that all life was sacred. America used to be a land of tolerance.

Moral fiber? You must be describing some other nation. America's moral fiber has been threadbare for quite some time.

We live in the times of the ends justify the means. We have become a country of special circumstances and exceptions to the rule.

We live in a county where people think that carpet bombing a third world country is ok, but heaven forbid an abortion take place. We live in a country that opposes gay marriage but has a divorce rate of over 50%.

We live in a country of scandal and cover-up. We live in a country of corruption and special favors.

And your claiming that Nancy Pelosi is a threat to our "moral fiber"?

If it wasn't so sad, the irony and hypocrisy of this question would be quite funny.

America does not have a single moral code. Nancy Pelosi represents her own district, and the voters there seem quite content with her.

For the rest, no politician resigns simply because some, or many, don't like her. You should have done better at electioneering!

I think Nancy Pelosi will reveal herself in the first few day's of the new year. if people do not feel she is qualified at that point there will probably be calls for her resignation.

I haven't seen any evidence that Pelosi is a threat to America. Do you have some evidence you felt it necessary to withhold from the rest of us or are you just reacting to the threat she poses to the Bush machine? Never mind, I just answered my own question lol. If she's unsuitable, which I don't believe she is, we'll find out come January. I can understand why you don't like her, she represents those who aren't afraid to speak out against Bush and his war. But that doesn't make her a threat to anyone but those who are still clinging to the premise that this war was a righteous one that should continue ad nauseum into the next decade. But America? America spoke on Nov. 7th and the message was crystal clear. Enough is enough. GW's time of dictatorship is over.

Threat because she doesn't have of moral fiber, or physical standing. In abundance, she succeeds with shrill incoherence, greasy politiking . . . . a dirty nose.

Pelosi won't resign. She's crossing her fingers for two shots in the White House. She wants her shot at first female president, two steps ahead of Hellary.

She turns my stomach.

I disagree with her on some issues but it doesn't mean she is evil. Only because her values differ from yours doesn't make her morally inferior.

How about you getting your facts straight? Look at what's going on now and has been going on since 2000.Do you think stealing 2 elections, lying about Iraq, etc. is moral? If you do then shame on you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, no of course not!!! She's fine the way she is. Looking better everyday for us in 2008.

No, I don't agree. Bush is a threat to America and has NO "moral fiber." Why aren't you calling for his resignation?
