Oh, give me a break. Their whole division plays the same amount of games against each other. Bettman changed the NHL's schedule similar to MLB's. They play their divisional opponents 3 times as much as other teams and have a select few against the other conference. In this case, the Leafs are in the Eastern conference, so they have a few 'interleague' games against the Western conference.

Well part of that can't be figured out before teh season anyway. At the start of the season most projections saw the Penguins at the bottom of their division, either last or just ahead of the Islanders. Right now if the Penguins can play a good full season they will be further ahead then people though. There are alot of other teams that were profected to be good but have been lousy. I don't think anyone expected Philly to be quite as bad as things started.

They don't have an easier schedule.

1. They play Buffalo, Montreal, Ottawa and Boston each 8 times this year (I wouldn't exactly call that "easy").

2. They play each of their other conference rivals (that includes Carolina, New Jersey, Atlanta, NY Rangers) 4 times this year (I wouldn't qualify that as "easy" either).

3. Same as point 2, sure they play Philly and Florida 4 times this year each, but so does everyone else in the conference... So no advantage there.

Therefore, they have pretty much exactly the same schedule as any other given team in their division (Montreal, Buffalo, Boston, Ottawa).

Therefore, they don't have an "easier" schedule.

Because someone has problems creating schedules....its stupid that they play some teams like 10 times and others none at all...I really wanted to see the Leafs play Pheonix but it won't happen.....

even though i love the leafs...they haven't beeb playing the best the past few years and they need to play some easy teams...but in defense of my beloved Leafs...they've gotten better and they don't have THAT easy of a schedule...i mean they got creamed by buffalo a few days ago...

No,. for one, they have already played Buffalo twice. And if they have an easy schedule, their entire division dose. The all play the same amount of games against the same teams.

because the center of the nhl's universe revolves around the leafs.
also the nhl wants to get them to the cup finals out of sympathy.

So we don't have to listen to them whine any more than we already do.
