If you are using Windows 98, I can see why you are having trouble. Visit the Memory stick manufacturer's website or join http://www.driverguide.com and look for a driver.
But if you are using Windows XP or Windows 2000, I would wonder if you have the memory stick plugged into a USB HUB. It might not work that way, you might have to plug it directly into a free USB port on the computer. (You also might not be able to use a USB extension cable).
If this is a brand new memory stick, and you still can't get it to work, then TAKE IT BACK to the store that you bought it from. Some stores STINK and charge a restocking fee. HEY, it's not your fault that it does not work. Ask if they will exchange it from a SANDISK brand memory stick... that will work. But Staples and other stationary stores DO NOT charge a restocking fee. Costco also happily gives you your money back if it does not work for you. You see, some stores help their customers. Don't even think about shopping at a store that only wants your MONEY.
Good luck and Happy Computing!

Try a different usb port or if you have a computer older computer such as 98 or ME then you probably need the software for it. Windows XP has all the software built in. Now if it did work at one time try this.
You could try the System Restore which takes you back to a time when your computer was working good. Go To:
start
programs
accessories
systems tools
system restore
This process is completely reversable. And does not remove your personal files. Just go back one checkpoint at a time until your puter is working good again.

turn your workstation off, take the flashchronic out, reboot, and positioned the flashchronic back in mutually as the pc is up and working. Plug and play could %. it up. If not, bypass on your administration Panel (start up, administration panel OR start up, settings, administration panel). Double click on upload Hardware. bypass for the period of the upload hardware wizard and that would desire to do the trick. If not, then the subsequent difficulty is which you may try a various USB port. If those do not artwork, the two the USB ports are unplugged (you may understand in case you employ them with yet another device and that they artwork effective meaning that may not it) or the flashchronic is broken.

Install the driver, you should have a CD with the stick.
But remember all USB drivers must be installed before plugging in the USB device!

crucial.com has a database to make sure that you get the right memory for your PC. They can also scan your PC to find out. They should even have instructions that might be helpful to you.
