I've moved to neighboring towns, I've moved across countries, and I've moved from one country to another, and all I can really say is that it's quite a chore. You can't put a figure to it in terms of cost, because that's going to depend on a whole lot of personal factors that only you know.. Are you moving permanently? In which case you have to haul all your worldly "stuff" You don't say anything about what kind of financial level you're on.... or how you are funding this move... whether you have a job waiting for you.... whether you already have accommodation organized in your new location, and my goodness, so many things that will be involved. If you are just going to try out a different location, with the idea that if it doesn't work out you will return, what contingency planning have you done for that possibility? I can't answer any of these "unknowns" because you have given no informtion, but if I had to pick one single bit of good advice, I'd say it was to tell you not under any circumstances to just "pick up and go" but make sure that you have really tied down every aspect of this move before you head off down the road, in your train, bus or automobile. Nothing worse than finding yourself in a strange place, among people who don't know you, facing a contingency you hadn't even thought of. I'v e been there, done that, and it ain't funny.

You may be able to afford those vaccinations. Some vets have vaccination days and only charge for those and no office visit. When you are there, you can tell the vet that you are on your way to Oregon and they may suggest something or even let you purchase it. I don't advise you to do a non stop trip, not only for your cats safety but yours as well. That is quite a long drive and serious fatigue can set in. Keeping your cat comfortable will require some careful planning a a roomy carrier. He will need his food, water and kitty litter placed in different areas. His kitty litter box can be placed on the floor of the car. Get a double bowl set as it won't tip over for his food and water. Make sure that when you let him out to use his kitty litter that all car windows are closed. When you leave the car, and it can only be for a very short period of time, the window will need to be cracked for fresh air. You will need to park in a shaded area because even in colder weather, a car can get hot very quickly. He may have a hard time at first but he should settle in and sleep most of the time.
