How do they pierce your bellybutton?

I want to get my bellybutton pierced but im terified of needles. Alot of my friends have had it done and they say that its painfull but worth it. Also everyone says not to get it done at the mall, if so then where do you have it done where it wont get infected?

they have you sit/ lay, disinfect the area, mark a spot where they are going to peirce it, put a clamp on it, put a cork think in your belly button, and peirce it, usually with a 14g needle (which has a whole in it and actually takes out a chunk of skin) It doesnt hurt too bad when the needle is going through, its after when they are screwing around with the ring and putting the ball on it. If you just bite your lip and look away it actually isnt that bad. Im not good with needles either but its a whole different kind of pain than getting your ears peirced. I was fine until i stood up then everything got all black and white and i could barely hear anyone talking but as soon as i got outside i was alright. besides that, and the first few time you clean it, it actually isnt that bad and it will deffinately be worth it this summer = )

First they clean the area and mark where to put the hole. Then they get some tongs and hold the area of skin. They get a big needle and push it through the skin where the mark is. Then they get the ring and follow the needle through with the ring, then they put the ball(s) on the barbell and you are done.

I have never heard of being able to go to the mall. My guess is that if you can do it at the mall, it would be very sanitary. I would go to a tattoo parlor to get it done to be safe, they have to follow strict guidelines!

Yeah the mall gets most piercings infected. But go to like a tatoo place or piercing place to get it done. All my friends that are 13 years old had it and one of my friends got it done at the mall and hers was the only one that got infected, but the other 2 got theres done at a tatoo place that did piercings.

First off the put some air in your belly button to make the hole bigger so they can Pierce it then they rub alcohol on it.Make the needle go between your inner belly button. It hurts but like you said its worth it.

a tattoo shop typically does piercings also. you pick a ring, they lay you down, clean the area. they apply the clamp, i think the clamp hurts more than the piercing itself, than they will piece it. yes, it hurts so bad. but you need to clean it religiously...
